Learn the latest techniques for getting crash data from passenger vehicles.

CDR 3-DAY TECHNICIAN COURSE

Course Description
ILEA In-Service Hours: 24
This three-day course is designed to introduce police, insurance and private investigators to the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval Tool, software, cables and basic imaging techniques, preserving the data, and troubleshooting. It will provide a working understanding of the components necessary for imaging and preserving data from the latest supported vehicle manufacturers.

The course includes practical, hands-on experience in imaging data so that the student can confidently image and preserve data from supported vehicles using the standard OBD II (DLC) port or directly from the airbag control module (ACM). The student receives instruction in best practices and practical applications in troubleshooting and “Re-Powering” in-vehicle components to enable safe data imaging and preservation of the data.

A CDR kit and activated software are suggested, but not required. It is best to train with the tools that you will be deploying to ensure they are communicating and operating correctly. Since it is difficult to transport the large CDR tool kit components, students may be asked to share some cables and adapters during class practical applications.

The CDR Technician course does not go into any analysis of the imaged data.  The Technician Certification course contains introductory information to, and is a prerequisite for, the 40-hour CDR Analyst Course.
